New Constituency Boundaries for Portsmouth
Portsmouth North Conservative Association is supporting the new constituency boundaries being put forward.
Under the plans being proposed by the Boundary Review Commission, the constituencies of Portsmouth North and South would be abolished and replaced with Portsmouth East and West.
The new Portsmouth East constituency would include the wards of Drayton and Farlington, Copnor, Baffins, Fratton, Milton, Eastney and Craneswater and would also encompass the Havant ward of Purbrook
Whilst Portsmouth West would include the wards of Paulsgrove, Cosham, Hilsea, Nelson, Charles Dickens, St Thomas and St Judes and would be joined by Porchester East from Fareham
The Boundary Commission is considering a plan to cut the number of MPs from 533 to 502, in England, by redrawing the constituency map, in order that MP’s represent between 72,810 and 80,473 residents in the wards.
Portsmouth North Conservative Association is now encouraging residents to support the proposal, by visiting http://consultation.boundarycommissionforengland.independent.gov.uk/have-your-say/
